OH my goodness, I cannot believe that I have been out of your company for so long, my patient friends, my life has run away with me, and sometimes it seems without me, I have had trials, tribulations, back pain, leg pain, children trouble, home trouble, money trouble and now I living amongst rubble trouble!!!
My- how I have missed meandering down the cyber paths and rowing idly through the rivers of website wonderlands. I am hoping to be with you fully soon, but do not hold your breath for too long my lovelies, as I am on the road to recovery but not fully there yet. My great niece is nearing the end of her leaukeamia treatment and mighty celebrations are pending - hurrah!!!
My grand daughter is awaiting treatment for her N.F.1 and I am still desperate for a job,
money is still an issue, although my debts are slowly but surely dwindling as is my energy.

Hello fairest ones, how are you all, I must say that I have missed our meetings immensely. Thank you for your lovely comments, and sorry I have been away so long yet again. I have no lap top, no internet and no communication. I miss my strolls through cyber country, looking at the wondrous images and enjoying all the sites and sounds of this magical place. I do not know when I will in this place again, hopefully very soon. I have been having some personal crises(?) and am still coming to terms with some of them!
Enough of that, I trust that you are all well and happy, summer is here and in all her finery. My vegetable plot is brimming with peas, radishes, onions, carrots, marigolds and the sweetest of sweet peas, what a wonderful flower, so humble yet so full of the most perfect scent. Hello my fair friends, how are you all, so pleased to be back with you again. My grandaughter is crawling now, how quickly the time goes! My allotment is looking more ordered and is getting full with seeds bursting through and plants being put in, my garden is also looking green and lush. The bluebells are coming into bloom, the daffodils are nodding in the breeze, the tulips look splendiferous and the lilac trees are full of budding beauty, the forsythia is full and yellow, i am full of wonder. My own thoughts are a little melancholy at the moment though, i still have no employment, no where to exhibit my works, well i have offers for exhibitions but alas no funds to pay for the spaces. Still i must try to keep up my spirits, for luck can change i am sure. Chins up my darling ones xxxxx

Hello my friends, sorry that I have not been visiting lately but as Mr John Lennon said, 'Life is what happens while you are making plans'. My little grand daughter has been taking up my 'real' life recently, she is wonderful and fascinating and magical. Just watching is the most beguiling thing on earth. My cat Daisy has had four gorgeous kittens, I have had a meeting with a 'business advisor' who was as much help as a chocolate teapot!!! I have been seriously job hunting with no success and I am trying to get my jewellery and objects out into the wild blue yonder again to no avail, however I am not the sort of woman to give up. I have also been gardening and allotmenteering and redecorating and reordering my small but, in my humble opinion, perfectly formed house. I have chosen wallpapers and paint but have yet to purchase everything!!! Phew, I am completely worn out, and to top it all Inow have an ear infection and the flue, what is a girl to do, people? I miss meandering through cyber groves and inter web lanes, gazing at blogs, web wonders and video charms. But I will be back with returned vigour ASAP, WATCH THIS SPACE...... much love and adoration always xxxxxx

I have had a horrible christmas eve, my little grand daughter India Poppy has a broken leg, and spent all of christmas eve and half of christmas day in the hospital, she has been diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis (type 1) and Congenital Pseudoarthrosis of Tibia. It is a complex genetic disorder, I looked it up on the wonder web and it sounds very frightening so I am of course worried, tearful and supporting my son and his partner, they are so scared and so young(21 and 27) so please prayer to whatever god or being you believe in and say one for my little princess. She is wearing a little cast on her leg and is still smiling as usual,bless her gorgeous little heart xxx

Oh the frustration....

I am so frustrated at the moment, I need to get over to the allotment to dig the soil over, weed it and harvest the fruits of my labour. I was ill on Friday, Saturday I was given a newish bed by my niece but had to collect it. Bearing in mind I have no car (I cant drive) I had to carry it from my nieces house. Terry and I only live five minutes walk from Jodis house, however carrying a memory foam mattress with no handles is awkward and five minutes seemed a lot longer. Then we had to take the bed itself apart and carry it home, five or six journeys later it was all in one place. Then came the fun part of putting the whole thing back together, first taking apart the old bed, phew - what a palaver....
so I didnt get to the allotment that day! Sunday was the in laws anniversary so didnt get to the allotment that day either!
Monday, had a hospital visit, got home, made lunch and finally got ready for allotment time, as I opened the front door the heavens opened and a thunderstorm started, aaaaaagggghhhh!!! I shut the door rather quickly and reluctantly removed my wellingtons. Yesterday had to restock the larder. I hate food shopping !! I came home and had to wait for the groceries to be delivered ... I thought I would go to the allotment after that, but I had crippling stomach pains so I just had a bath and went off to bed instead.

Perhaps I will have better luck today xx

Childhood Tales continued

When I was a child I fell in love with words, I have been in love ever since. Words are so powerful, poetic, inspiring, terrifying, exciting and so much more than I am able to express. I am no William Shakespeare, even though I share his birth date, that unfortunately is all that I have in common with the wondrous wordsmith. I have already told you how I came to adore Tolkien, but Ifell for Enid Blyton first, and Beatrix Potter, Alexander Dumas and Oscar Wilde and J.M.Barrie, and so many other wonderful story tellers, I am always reading. I read 'Larkrise to Candelford' as a young teen, probably 13 or 14 and was mesmerised. Wuthering Heights took my breath away. I try to tell my tales through my jewellery and objects, but I am no great narrator. I admire the great narrative makers such as Lin Cheung and Mah Rana, their work is simply stunning and awe inspiring to me.

Lin Cheung created a locket with words from a poem engraved on it, the words are only visible when the necklace is breathed upon, by a lover of course who else would get so close to your neck... Gerd Rothmann designed a bracelet moulded to the shape of a clients wrst to be worn by his wife, the symbolic holding of his wrist over hers, how romantic and yet so simple... x

The Pursuit of Happiness

I have been thinking deeply, dear ones, whilst digging on my allotment. My thoughts often wander during this meditative process, and many things float through my mind. Today, my fair ones, it was Happiness and how to pusue it!
The strange idea of this being part of the American Declaration of Independence... what constitutes happiness? every one has their own version of happiness.
I feel that the media has confused many into believing that fame and riches will make them happy, so people are fighting for their '15 minutess of fame'. As if the world owes them something, and being on T.V. or in the glossies scandal sheets will earn them money and respect. I do not read the gossip columns, nor do I buy the scrappy mags that show so-called 'celebrities' showing their knickers or falling down drunk, and I find the whole idea rather tawdry and a waste of time.

The pursuit of happiness is not about greed, the simplest things are what really make us happy.... I hope you find yours xxx

I have been working on my allotment, and while working there I always have a memory rush. Today I was thinking about my favourite books. I had a vivid memory of when I first read 'The Lord of the Rings', my 'bestest' friend Maxine Esson and I were in the library at school, and she handed me a book and said' read this section it is amazing'. It was the part where Boromir is killed, and his funeral ritual was described so vividly it was breath taking. I read it and immediately went to find the other copies of the trilogy. I read it all in a few weeks, and have read it several times since, it still remains one of my favourite books.
Maxine was also responsible for the discovery of another of my favourite reads,' Nurse Matilda',by Chrstiana Brand, this was when I was about ten years old. I have asked other people about it and they look at me blankly, until Emma Thompson created Nanny Macphee, Ms Thompson cites Nurse Matilda as the inspiration for the films. Hurrah for Emma T. It is a wondrous tale of naughty, unruly children and truth and love and all the things that make a magical journey, read it yourselves oh fairest friends, I thoroughly recommend it for the child within us all xxx

HHello dear ones, I have had a tiring week, new grand daughter, my son and his girlfriend stayed over for a few nights, I forgot how demanding little ones can be! However I enjoyed it, but am feeling utterly exhausted.
My brain seems to have forgotten how to function!!
Never fear - normal, or what passes for normal, services will be resumed as soon as possible. I am strolling through cyber lanes exploring all the wonders of the imaginary world. I remember having an invisible pet when I was younger, much younger, I was around five years old, and I had an imaginary dog.
I wonder at the mind set of children, they are so much more accepting of eccentricity and adventure than 'grown-ups'. Children adopt their prejudices from us, the parents, luckily my children are tolerant and accept people for who and what they are. Three cheers for eccentricity I say, where would we be without it?

Butterflies and Dragon Flies, true wonders x

I love butterflies, and dragon flies, they fascinate me, I could watch them for hours, so beautiful delicate yet strong. I have had a couple of slightly 'spooky' situations with both of these wondrous creatures; the first was a butterfly which settled onto my garden table whilst I was sitting reading, I looked at it and went to carry on reading, (it was a gripping read) and the butterfly seemed to take offense and moved forward towards me! I was taken aback as you can imagine, and set the book down. The butterfly, a peacock, 'strutted' towards me, stopped and sat apparently looking right at me, so I sat and looked back at 'him'. This went on for some minutes until I felt obliged to speak, so I said, as you do, 'hello, do I know you?' and the butterfly moved forward, almost under my nose, fluttered a little and was off fluttering round the table for a few seconds, then was gone, I felt rather strange and also priviledged. The other experience was with a dragon fly, we had a powerful summer storm about three years ago, and the back door was open as I love the smell of rain on the soil and grass. A dragonfly flew in and took refuge on the curtain pole, my youngest son and some of his friends were fascinated by this creature. It was beautiful, green and yellow shining like gemstones, it had a slightly damaged top left wing. My son said, 'what does it want?' to which I replied, 'shelter from the storm', 'how will we get him out without harming him', I said 'he will leave when the storm subsides', to which my son looked rather scepticle, 'trust me' I said. The rain subsided, the sun appeared, the dragon fly left through the back door, unharmed. A few days later we had another small storm, the dragon fly returned, and sheltered in the same place. Ha, I know what you are thinking, how do you it was the same one, well the wing was damaged in the very same place, again he left when the storm ended.

Well,my fairest followers it appears that our summer is over, I know that I desperately wanted the rain to come and stay for a while, but it seems to have moved in for the time being and is like a house guest that has out stayed their welcome... rain, rain go away and come back in a little while? I feel so ungrateful, as the garden is now beginning to revive, and I do love the smell of damp soil and the rain drops on the leaves.

As you may have gathered I have a penchant for bird houses: I am sure they are secret hide outs for fairies and other magical beings!!! When I was a small child Iused to watch my Grandpa's bird house very carefully to see if I could catch a fairy secretly entering it by the back door so to speak. I would sit on the bed in the spare room for what seemed like hours, when I was supposed to be asleep. I believed that I would catch one coming out at dusk to dance by the moonlight.

I thought I would devote a little time to tell you about a few of my favourite escapist films, television and other media entertainments; one of my favourite T.V. shows is the truly wonderful 'Pushing Daisies', I love the quirky story telling of Jim Dale as the narrator, the candy coloured scenery and sets, the fantastical story lines and characters. The use of alliterative names - for example; Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles, Charles Charles, The Darling Mermaid Darlings, and places like 'Couer d'Coeurs' and Boutique Travel Travel Boutique'. It is definitely up ther with some of my favourite 'other worldly' movies like 'Amelie', and anything by the amazing Tim Burton. xxx

One of my favourite fairy tales is 'The Princess and The Pea ' ever since I was a child, the illustration in the book of fairy tales that my mother handed down to me was wonderful, so I have compiled some images from various sources depicting the Princess and the Pea.

At last, my fair ones, it has actually rained, too late for many of my flower flock but some seem to have perked up. My allotment looks wonderful, only because we have wells near each row of plots to take water from, how ever the weeds thrive whatever the weather!!!
Sadly, this is not my plot, its from internet images, but its getting too look good, and next year will look fabulous and full of vegetables and flowers. I have had a great harvest of sugar snap peas, potatoes, lettuces, beetroots, corgettes and runner beans, the marigolds and nasturtiums look so pretty amongst the beans, peas, corgettes and tomatoes. I have leeks, cabbages, broccoli, parsnips and carrots on the way....

I am in mourning for my beautiful garden, we have had no proper rainfall for a very long time, and the garden was looking so lovely a little while ago. I have no hose, and only one small watering can and so many flowers but not enough water to bring it back to life on my own. My hose does not fit on my new tap, my sister gave me a fixing that should have fit but keeps popping off the tap. Oh my poor darling roses, lillies, daisies, and all the others, my heart is breaking.

I have been watching some television this week, and I discovered a new programme, 'Sherlock' BBC1 Sundays 9 o'clock, I urge everyone to watch this, it is brilliant. Sherlock Holmes in present day London with Dr Watson a worn out loner ex soldier injured and needing a flat mate gets teamed up with Mr Holmes and the game is afoot, wonderful stuff!!
